Adults

BZD’s programs increase knowledge of and pride in Israel.  We connect Jews of all backgrounds with Israel in order to promote an understanding of Israel, its society, its challenges and its ideals.

Learn Conversational Hebrew

Our popular on-going classes in Ulpan Conversational Hebrew, offered at Beginners and

Advanced levels, are taught by a very experienced Israeli Hebrew instructor.

What is the Ulpan method?

It is an intensive Israeli method for teaching and improving Hebrew language skills. Bring a friend. Choose from two levels of classes. Each class totals 12 sessions and runs twice a week for 6 weeks.

Speaker series

BZD informs and educates the public about Israeli politics, policies and life.  Understand and connect with Israel by attending our informative speaker series.

  • Diverse points of view by knowledgeable pundits, media types, authors, scholars, and diplomats

  • Provocative speakers addressing issues of concern to Israel, US, and American Jews.

  • Lively discussions

BZD Activist Opportunities

BZD calls upon volunteers and other community activists from time to time to participate in rallies, monitor media for biased reporting, and write Letters to the Editor.

Rallies and vigils

BZD’s strength lies in its ability to mobilize the community.  In recent times, we co-sponsored a rally of 1,000+ people, coordinated a bus caravan with hundreds to Washington protests, attracted 2,000 people to the Bomb Shelter Museum, and held prayer vigils attended by hundreds.

Letter-writing campaigns

When Israel faces a crisis situation, do you care enough to write a Letter to the Editor, the UN, the President, Congress, or US State Department in support of Israel?  Join our team of letter writers when Israel counts on us for that support.

Media monitoring

U.S. media, local or national, is often biased in its coverage of Israel, especially in times of crisis.  Become a BZD whistle-blower and advise us when you find inaccurately-reported news or editorials unfairly criticizing Israel’s actions or policies.

Petition campaigns

As situations arise, BZD’s new website allows us to mobilize our members, donors, and the general public to sign on-line petitions supporting and/or defending Israel.

  •          Collective voices matter!  Make your voice count!

  •          When BZD calls on YOU, be ready to sign a petition!

·         BZD will transmit a petition in your name to the appropriate parties.
